Senior baseball pitcher Sam Mathews (Fairfield, Ohio / Badin) earned OAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season after helping the No. 1 ranked Pioneers to a perfect 4-0 week. Mathews appeared in three games during the week, all in relief. He earned the save in all three games, not allowing a single run in 8.0 innings pitched. Matthews only gave up three hits in the span and struck out nine. Against John Carroll on Sunday, Mathews struck out six of the 14 batters faced.
