Baseball junior Zach Boyd (Kent, Ohio/Tallmadge) was named the OAC Hitter of the Week and earned D3baseball.com Team of the Week honors after leading the Etta Express to a four-game sweep of Capital to open the 2021 season. The Pioneer outfielder hit .643 with three doubles, eight RBI and 7 runs scored. Boyd had multiple hits in all four games and drove in multiple runs in three of the four games.
