Marietta College Athletics

Sophomore Lawson Monta (New Alexandria, Pa./Greensburg Salem) started off 2018 with solid showing at the Marietta Open earning OAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honors. He took top honors in the weight throw with a distance of 16.72 meters. Monta’s winning throw was a personal record and currently ranks 17th in the nation this winter. Monta also placed second in the shot put with a throw of 14.86 meters. His best throw of the winter, 15.13 meters, came in the Marietta First Glimpse Meet before Christmas and currently ranks 16th nationally.
