Men’s Track sophomore Lawson Monta (New Alexandria, Pa. / Greensburg Salem) opened the 2017-18 indoor track season by sweeping the shot put and weight throw at the Marietta First Glimpse meet. Monta was Marietta's leading point scorer with event wins in the men's shot put and weight throw. He took first in the shot with a toss of 15.13 meters and won the weight throw with a distance of 15.79 meters. His distance in the shot put is currently the seventh best throw in Division III this winter, while his weight throw mark is ranked 17th nationally.
