Madison Machurek begins her first year as assistant volleyball at coach at Marietta College in 2016. She will be involved in all aspects of the program in addition to serving as the team’s strength and conditioning coach.

Machurek comes to Marietta after spending the last two years in Austin, Texas coaching at St. Gabriel Catholic School and the Athlos Leadership Academy. She also coached USAV Juniors Volleyball with the Austin Juniors Volleyball Club, one of the top club programs in South Texas.

Prior to her time in Texas, Machurek coached high school and club volleyball in Idaho. She was an assistant coach at Vallivue High School helping the team to three straight State Tournament appearances, as well as coaching with the Boise River and Idaho Crush club teams.

A native of Eagle, Idaho, Machurek graduated from the College of Idaho with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and a minor in Coaching and Psychology. She also holds a National Academy of Sports medicine (NASM) personal trainer certification.

Machurek was a four-year starting setter and captain for the College of Idaho earning first team all-conference and all-region honors. The Yotes compiled a record of 100-29 in her four seasons winning 24 or more matches each season.

An accomplished high school player, Machurek led Eagle High School to an undefeated season and the first of four consecutive state championships in 2007. She capped her scholastic career by earning state Player of the Year honors that season.
