Gabe Haynes begins his first season as assistant men's soccer coach at Marietta College in 2015. Haynes has joined the Pioneer men’s soccer coaching staff as the second assistant.
Haynes, who previously coached at the University of Charleston with first assistant Ryan Osborne, will work in developing the Pioneers’ goalkeeping talent.
Haynes graduated from the University of Charleston where he majored in Interior Design and played for the Golden Eagles for four years. While a member of the team the Golden Eagles went from 0-17 in 2007 to conference champions and a NCAA Elite 8 Appearance in 2009.
He then went on to coach the team from 2010-2013 which was highlighted with a NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2010. Haynes mentored the Golden Eagles' keepers, one of which has gone on to play professionally in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) for the Dayton Dutch Lions.
His coaching career expanded in 2012 when he was a staff member of the USL West Virginia Chaos. He held that position for two seasons one of which was the best record, at that time, in franchise history in 2012.
