Ian Gonzalez

Ian Gonzalez begins his third year as assistant coach for the Marietta College men’s lacrosse team in 2024-25.
 
Gonzalez comes to Marietta after a stint as graduate assistant coach at University of the Cumberlands. Gonzalez was hired in 2021 and also served as offensive coordinator, helping lead the program to a seventh-best finish in the NAIA for goals per game average. Before that, He spent two seasons with Tennessee Wesleyan University as a graduate assistant coach. During that stop, Gonzalez helped in player development, game strategy, and recruiting.
 
Gonzalez had a successful collegiate career at Tennessee Wesleyan. In his four years in the program, he scored 36 career goals and assisted on 24 more for 60 career points to go along with 191 ground balls. Gonzalez was also pressed into service to play some occasional goalkeeper his senior year. He was twice named first team All-Appalachian Athletic Conference.
 
Originally from Pembroke Pines, Florida, Gonzalez graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance in May of 2019. He went on to complete a master’s in Business Administration from Tennessee Wesleyan in December of 2021 and a master’s in Science Health and Human Performance from the University of the Cumberlands in May of 2022.
