Tom Arison enters his eighth year as Marietta College's head men's and women's golf coach in 2024-25. He was charged with resurrecting both programs after a 15-year hiatus at Marietta. The Pioneers fielded a varsity men’s golf team from 1936-2002 and a varsity women’s team from 2001-02. Both teams relaunched during the 2017-18 school year.

Under the leadership of Arison, the women's golf team has consistently finished in the top 15 nationally for team grade point average.  The women's team earned the best grade point average at the NCAA Division III level during the 2019-20 season.

The team has also experienced success on the course as they won the women's individual OAC Championship in 2018.  Arison was named Women's OAC Co-Coach of the Year for his efforts during the 2018 season.

Arison came to Marietta after serving as the head boy’s golf coach at Copley High School near his hometown of Fairlawn, Ohio.

Prior to his time at Copley High School, Arison served as the interim head men’s golf coach at McKendree University, an NCAA Division II member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Arison spent two years with the Bearcats in a variety of roles.

He started at McKendree as a graduate assistant for game management before moving into an assistant coaching position in the fall of 2015. In addition, Arison served as an assistant golf professional at the Bearcats’ on campus golf course, The Hills Golf Club.

Always working to promote the game of golf, Arison has worked for several years with The First Tee of Akron, an organization that teaches underprivileged youth the values and life skills that are gained through the sport of golf. He has also served as an assistant caddie master and club house attendant at Portage Country Club.

Arison competed collegiately at Wagner College, an NCAA Division I member of the Northeast Conference located in New York. An All-Conference honoree, he served as team captain his junior and senior seasons.

Arison received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wagner College in 2014. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from McKendree University in 2016.

A standout prep performer at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio, Arison was a two-time first team All-Conference selection and was the Most Valuable Player in the North Coast League in 2010 helping lead the Knights to a state sectional championship. Individually, Arison won three Northern Ohio Junior PGA events and a pair of Spitale Tour titles.
