Travis Schuba begins his second season as an assistant coach of the Marietta College men’s basketball team in 2023-24.
Schuba came to Marietta College after a coaching stint at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Schuba was hired as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator of the women’s basketball program in 2020. He made an immediate impact as he signed two major recruits in his first month. He also was impactful in Davenport winning their first ever conference tournament game that year.
Schuba was promoted to women’s basketball interim head coach in 2021, where he made great strides in improving the team culture and the competitive nature of the program. He also emphasized a commitment to academic success.
Schuba also had coaching stints at his collegiate and high school alma maters. He spent the 2016-17 season as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Madonna University, the same place he played collegiate basketball (2010-2014). In 2014, he accepted his very first coaching job as an assistant at Kalkaska High School (MI), the same place he played high school basketball (2006-2010). Schuba served as the head coach at Traverse City High School from 2017-2020 leading the team to a pair of conference championships. including the first in 15 years.
Schuba also played professionally as a member of the Washington Generals, the longtime opponent of the Harlem Globetrotters.
Schuba graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Madonna University in 2014.
