Randy Petit begins his fifth season as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program in 2011-12. Petit, who is in his first year as an Admissions Counselor, will transition to a part-time coach this season.

Petit, a member of the Pioneers’ squad during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons, deals primarily with Marietta’s low post players. He also assists in the recruiting efforts.

“We are excited to have Coach Petit back on staff again this year,” Coach VanderWal said. “He was instrumental the past fews seasons in our recruiting efforts and will continue to help us in the area. His energy and passion for the game of basketball is what we want our program to be about.”

Petit, a Marietta native, transferred to Ohio State for a year before returning as an assistant with Marietta in 2007. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication and Public Relations from Marietta in 2010.
