Pat Carlisle

Pat Carlisle begins his first year as an assistant coach for the Marietta College men’s basketball team in 2025-26.

Carlisle is coming to Marietta from Lehman Catholic High School.  Over the past seven years Carlisle rebuilt Lehman basketball into a proven winner with having six straight winning seasons, the most by one coach in school history.  Carlisle’s team won over 100 games along with having the third longest tournament run in school history during the 2023 – 24 season.

Prior to Lehman, Carlisle rejoined Wittenberg University from 2015 – 2018 after previously serving as an assistant coach from 2004 – 2006 with Marietta’s head coach Andy Bucheit.

Carlisle’s greatest coaching accomplishment came during his seven-year term as the head coach at Columbus State Community College (CSCC) from 2006 - 2013. At CSCC, Carlisle had national success in creating a national powerhouse. In 2008, he led Columbus State to the National Junior College Athletic Association National Finals and in 2009, to the National Elite 8 with an overall record of 161 - 58.  During these seven years, Carlisle helped develop 38, four-year NCAA scholarship student – athletes, two NBA D League players, while earning 6 coach of year awards.

Carlisle has also coached at Miami University (Middletown), Sinclair Community College, Butler High School and Jefferson High School.

Carlisle is a 2001 graduate of Wright State University in education and 2005 graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.  Carlisle and his wife Diana have two adult children, Megan and Daniel.
