Luke Black begins his third season as the defensive line coach for the Pioneers in 2015.
The Marietta native played collegiately at Fairmont State University where he graduated on the Dean’s List with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Technology in 2012. He then went on to play professionally for the Cleveland Gladiators in the Arena Football League.
During his playing days at Fairmont State Black was named a team captain for his junior and senior seasons. Black was named all West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference four times, including three first team selections. Black finished his career at Fairmont State with 20 sacks and 37 tackles for loss.
Black had a short stint in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals and played for the Utah Blaze in the Arena League before becoming a part of the Cleveland Gladiators. Black helped the Gladiators to a 19-2 record advancing to Arena Bowl XXVII.
