Prior to Methodist, Harbaugh coached at North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, N.C. for two seasons. He coached running backs, wide receivers and tight ends for the Battling Bishops as well as being the assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Injuries cut short both his freshman and junior seasons. As a sophomore, Harbaugh helped the Cougars to the school’s first conference championship.

Following the conclusion of his playing career at Averett, Harbaugh completed a coaching internship with the Averett football coaching staff in the spring of 2009. He coached the running backs, assisted with the strength and conditioning program and supported the school’s recruiting efforts.

Harbaugh received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sport Management with a minor in coaching from Averett University in 2009.
