David Carroll begins his third season as an assistant coach at Marietta College in 2020. Carroll is the Pioneers' recruiting coordinator and also coaches the tight ends.
Carroll came to Marietta after serving as an assistant coach at fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member Ohio Northern University in 2017. He coached the Polar Bear H-backs and tight ends. In addition he served as co-recruiting coordinator and also assisted with special teams.
Prior to his time at Ohio Northern, Carroll spent two years as a graduate assistant at OAC member Otterbein University. Carroll coached the Cardinal wide receivers including three all-conference honorees.
Carroll played collegiately at Muskingum University earning two varsity letters at wide receiver. Following his senior season, he assisted with the Muskie defensive backs in the spring of 2014.
Following graduation, Carroll coached one year at Marion Pleasant High School where he worked with the wide receivers and defensive backs.
Carroll received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and Health Education from Muskingum University in 2014. He completed a Master of Arts degree in Allied Health-Exercise Science from Otterbein University in 2017.
