This past summer, Leierer joined more than 110 other college coaches for the third annual Lauren's First and Goal Football Camp. Nearly 500 high school student-athletes attended the camp, which raised more than $16,000 for pediatric brain tumor research.

Prior to Marietta, Leierer spent two seasons with St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. He was the offensive line coach for the Saints in 2008 and promoted to offensive coordinator in 2009. Leierer coached six All-Liberty League players while with St. Lawrence.

Leierer served an assistant coach at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, from 2005-07. He began his tenure as the offensive line coach and junior varsity offensive coordinator and picked up run game coordinator and junior varsity head coaching duties in his second year. While with the Norse, Leierer coached five All-Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference players, including a two-time All-American guard.

Leierer was a graduate assistant at the University of North Dakota during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. He coached the tight ends on the 2003 national runner-up team and assisted the offensive line on the 2004 national semifinalist squad.

Leierer began his collegiate coaching career with a three-year stint at Peru State College in Nebraska. He coached the tight ends in 2000 and 2001 before jumping to the offensive line in 2002. Three Bobcat players earned All-Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference under his guidance.

Leierer earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Hastings College. He then received his Masters of Science in Kinesiology from the University of North Dakota in 2005.
