Andy Stillman begins his second year as assistant football coach at Marietta College in 2014. Stillman is the Pioneers’ defensive coordinator and coaches the linebackers. In addition, Stillman is Marietta’s strength and conditioning coach.
In his first year coaching the linebackers at Marietta, Stillman coached Jake Hammer to a second team All-OAC performance.
With over 15 years of collegiate playing and coaching experience at the Division I and III levels, Stillman brings a wealth of knowledge to the Pioneer football program.
Stillman came to Marietta after serving as the defensive coordinator at Manchester University in North Manchester, Ind. For three years. His defenses consistently ranked among the leaders in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
In 2012, Stillman’s defense helped the Spartans to their first winning season since 1997. Manchester’s second place finish in HCAC was its best conference finish since 1968.
In addition to his defensive responsibilities, Stillman served as Manchester’s head strength and conditioning coach and was a professor of Exercise and Sports Sciences.
Prior to Manchester, Stillman spent fours seasons as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at Oberlin College. He also developed and managed all aspects of the strength and speed program. In 2007, the Yeomen recorded their most conference wins since 1974.
Stillman has extensive recruiting experience in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Texas.
Stillman spent a year as a volunteer assistant strength and conditioning coach with the football team at Ohio State University. He then worked for three years at Bowling Green State University spending two years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and another as an instructor in the physical education department.
From Bowling Green Stillman spent three years teaching and coaching at the high school level in Ohio and North Carolina.
Stillman received his Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education (Sports Science) from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1999 where he was a four-year letter winner on the gridiron. He was a team captain his senior season.
Stillman completed a Master’s Degree in Developmental Kinesiology at Bowling Green State University in 2002 and his teaching licensure in Physical Education (K-12) at the University of Toledo in 2004.
Stillman has two daughters, Tyrah and Alexis, and a son, Drew.
