Adam Tate, a 2011 graduate of Marietta College, begins his third season as an assistant coach for the Pioneers in 2013. After coaching the outside linebackers in 2012, Tate will return to his roots and handle the defensive line this fall.
A four-year letter winner for the Pioneers, Tate dominated the defensive line recording 177 total tackles in his career, including 17 sacks and 37.5 tackles for a loss.
Tate was a first team All-OAC selection as a senior after capturing second team honors as a junior. A leader on and off the field, Tate was chosen as team captain his senior season.
Tate, a native of Chesterhill, Ohio, earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Marietta.
