Marietta College Athletics

Matt Hroma begins his first year as the Pioneer's assistant coach in men's and women's cross country and track and feld in 2024-25.

Hroma comes to Marietta after finishing up a stint as assistant track and field and cross country coach at Owyhee High School (Meridian, Idaho).  He coached the sprint and relay teams and was tasked with helping the cross country teams improve their performance through exercise and workout planning.  He coached his 4x200 girls relay team to high finishes at the Idaho State Meet over the last two years.
 
Hroma also worked as Throwing Coach for the YMCA Idaho Track and Field team in Boise where he specialized in the Discus, Shot, Hammer, and Javelin events.
 
In his duties as assistant coach for the Pioneers, Hroma will work Sprints, hurdles, long/triple jump, high jump, throws, and relays.  He will also take an active role in recruiting. 
 
Hroma was an honor athlete at Lewis-Clark State College (Lewiston, Idaho) where he was involved in all of the throwing events as well as the 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and relays.  He has also trained for the decathlon.  
 
Originally from Meridian, Idaho, Hroma graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in May of 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Health and Fitness with an emphasis in Coaching
