Chris Stout is in his second year as assistant baseball coach and Don Schaly Stadium supervisor in 2019. In addition to maintaining the Pioneers’ playing facility, Stout is Marietta’s pitching coach.

Stout comes to Marietta after spending a year as the pitching coach at North Carolina Wesleyan College, an NCAA Division III member of the USA South Conference. In addition to his responsibilities with the Battling Bishop pitchers, Stout coached first base and assisted with strength and conditioning.

Stout served as the 2017 field manager for the White Sands Pupfish of the Pecos League, an independent professional baseball league, located in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Prior to his time with North Carolina Wesleyan and the Pupfish, Stouts spent five years as an assistant high school coach at Nevada High School in Nevada, Iowa and North Pitt High School in Bethel, North Carolina.

Stout pitched collegiately at Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, Iowa and Ashford University in Iowa. Following his collegiate career, he played for the Slater NiteHawks of the Des Moines Semi-Pro baseball league and for the White Sands Pupfish.

Stout completed an Associate of Arts degree at Marshalltown Community College in 2011. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from North Carolina Wesleyan in 2017. Chris and his wife Alyssa have two dogs, Arley and Elli.
