Event Schedule Note: Meet will go on as scheduled no matter what the weather situation is on the day of competition. Only a government official declaring a state of emergency would cancel the meet.
Entry Fee

Individual Entry: $8 per event (Atheletes can compete in up to four events)

Relay Entry: $20

Team Entry: $125

  • • Each gender is a different team

Late Fees: $15 (individual); $40 (relays)

Entry Fees will be paid through Direct Athletics.

The Pioneer Elite Invite is intended to be a quality competition with selective entries based on previous verifiable performances. Because of the selective nature of this event SUBMITTING AN ENTRY WITH ENTRY FEE DOES NOT GUARANTEE ACCEPTANCE INTO THE COMPETITION.
 
*The entry fee to the Pioneer Elite Invite must be paid when entering and only guarantees entry onto the performance list. Fields will be selected from the paid entries on the performance list. Entry fee will NOT be refunded to entries not accepted.
Entries

All entries need to be submitted through Direct Athletics. If you do not have an account, you can create either a coach or athlete account on the Direct Athletics website to enter. When searching for the meet, type “Pioneer” into the meet name field and click search. Submitting an entry does not guarantee your acceptance into the meet. Your performance must be within the allotted field sizes.

  • • Meet Management holds the right to increase field sizes if entries warrant larger field sizes for a given event.
  • • Preliminary entry list will be posted Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, with the initial accepted entry list.
  • • Final entry list will be posted Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, with the final accepted entry list.
Sanction USATF Sanctioned Event. Individual membership in USATF in not required.
Awards
  • • First place finishers will receive a Nike Dri-Fit T-Shirt
  • • First place relays will also receive a Nike Dri-Fit T-Shirt
  • • 2nd-8th place will receive a commemorative award
  • • All Entries accepted to the meet will receive a commemorative water bottle
Admission $5 for adults
Athletic Training
  • • An ATC and student assistants will be on hand to assist with injuries and emergencies during the competition.
  • • Taping can be done by our athletic trainers but participating athletes will need to supply the taping materials.
  • • There will be no access to advanced equipment (ultra-sound, stimulation, etc.).
  • • Ice will be available.
Facility
  • • 200m Mondo Super-X, installed in December 2002.
  • * 6 lanes (36"), 8 lane sprint straight (42"). (Only 7 lanes will be used in 55m hurdles.
  • • We have 8 sets of regular blocks and 2 sets of Moye. Feel free to bring your own blocks. (Only 1/4" spikes in the base plate of the blocks.)
  • • Horizontal jump runway is Mondo.
  • • Pole vault runway is instant runway.1/4” spikes are permitted on the instant runway. Lowest setting for the PV standards will be 7-06.00. The bar cannot start lower than 7-06.00. 
  • • High jump apron is Mondo (Sportsflex).
  • • Throwing events will be from wood.
  • • There are three in-ground triple jump boards available for competition at the following distances from the pit: 28 ft. – 36 ft. – 41 ft.
Spike Rule
  • • Spikes longer then 3/16" pyramids are not permitted. (3/16" pyramid spikes will be sold at meets)
  • • 1/4" spikes are only allowed on a shoe with a rubberized recessed sole.  If the shoes have a hard plastic bottom on the forefoot, the spike may be no longer than 3/16".
  • • The clerk will be checking spike length just before the races. If your athlete is in violation of this rule, he/she will not be allowed to participate (if your athlete has shoes with a permanent spike plate and the spikes are greater than 3/16", they will not be allowed to use them).
  • • Spikes will be available for purchase at the clerk's table.
Implements

If you plan to use your own blocks, they will need to be checked in at the implement weigh-in table at least 45 minutes prior to the event.

Pole Vault

Pole vault participants will need to fill out a pole vault certification form (PDF).
All pole vault participants will be weighed at competition for accuracy of the poles being used in competition.

Posted as available on the results board in the main concourse.

Parking

There is no charge for parking.

PLEASE ENTER THROUGH THE MAIN ENTERANCE NEAR MIDDLE OF CAMPUS. 

Parking on campus is limited, therefore buses are to unload on Butler Street (see campus map for location), and then please go park at the Hermann Fine Arts lot across the street from the Dyson-Baudo Center.

Vans and spectators may park in the lot next to Hermann Fine Arts Building (see campus map), or in available spaces on campus or adjacent to campus.

Concessions

Food, drinks and t-shirts will be available.

There will be food and drinks provided to athletes and coaches in their respective hospitality areas.

Team Camps Team Camps will be in the stands and on the floor covering in the main gym, Fenton Court. This will also serve as the warm-up area once the main track is closed for competition.
Precautions

Please pay attention to the signage in the facility!

• No spikes will be allowed on any of the camp floor covering or in the hallways.
• No food or drinks will be allowed inside the track area.
(Only water will be permitted inside the track.)
