3/18/2026 8:15:00 PM

Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa.  – The Marietta College women's lacrosse team was defeated by Washington and Jefferson College, 17-6, on Wednesday (March 18) evening.  The win improves the Presidents to 2-2, and with the loss the Pioneers are now 4-4.

"Tough outing tonight," said Head Coach Lindsay Reho. "We had the looks but couldn't finish on cage. Defense played tough for 60 minutes. We have a week to reset and recover before we kick off conference play and the team is hungry to get back in the win column."

Washington and Jefferson exploded offensively for much of the first period, fueled by pair of scores apiece from Caleigh Bogats, Mya Bolinda, and Ella Holland and took a 7-0 lead into the second quarter.

Marietta finally got on the board at the 6:30 mark of the second quarter as Renee Mulvaney (Midland, Mich./Midland) got an unassisted shot by the W&J goalkeeper.  Mallory Wiles (Worthington, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) broke through for a score and then scored on the very next possession to cut the lead to five.  W&J got a pair of those scores back in rapid fashion, but Mulvaney scored again with less than two minutes in the half.  W&J closed the half with another pair of scores and took a 12-5 lead going into the half.

The Pioneers got the first score of the third period as Wiles found the back of the net yet again, but the Presidents answered just two minutes later as Bekah Meiklejohn scored.  Both teams held each other scoreless for the next six minutes until Mulvaney was able to score.  W&J was able to add another pair of scores led by nine going into the final period.  The Pioneers were held scoreless in the final period and the Presidents cruised to a 17-6 victory.

Tessa Labrasciano (Brandon, Fla./Bloomingdale Senior) worked all 60 minutes in the net for the Pioneers and faced 20 shots on goal, making five saves.

Marietta was led by Wiles and Mulvaney with three goals apiece.  and Adams finished with four scores.  Alayna Francis (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) led with seven draw controls.  Wiles and Maggie Downard (Canal Fulton, Ohio/Jackson) led the team, causing two turnovers.  Molly Dickens (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) led with four groundballs.

Marietta will return to the field next Wednesday (March 25) when they open the Ohio Athletic Conference schedule.  The Pioneers will host Capital University, with the game scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
