WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Jillian Fellers (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) was selected as Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. The announcement was made Monday (Sept. 8) afternoon by the conference office.
 
Fellers played exceptionally well at the Juniata ASICS Invitational this last weekend against two highly ranked opponents, helping the Pioneers win two of three matches at the event. On Friday, the Pioneers were defeated by #1 Juniata, 3-1. On the following day, Marietta beat Muhlenberg 3-0 in early action and then swept #18 Ithaca College, 3-0. The weekend performance landed Fellers on the All-Tournament team.
 
Fellers powered down 14 kills against the top-ranked Eagles on Friday and then followed that on Saturday with 14 more kills verses Muhlenburg. She then collected nine kills and 14 digs in the takedown of the Bombers later that afternoon.
 
For the week, Fellers had 37 kills for a .341 attack percentage and averaged 3.2 digs per set. In addition, Fellers notched her 1,000th career kill in the match against Juniata.
 
The Pioneer are back in action this Friday (Sept. 12) as they participate in the Muskingum University Invitational. On the first day, the Pioneers battle Washington and Jefferson College at 4 p.m. On Saturday, Marietta will face Case Western Reserve University at 12 p.m. and then finish up with Mount St. Joseph University at 2 p.m.
