WORCESTER, Massachusetts — The Marietta College men's rowing team was back for its second day of racing on Lake Quinsigamond Sunday (April 20) morning. The Pioneers faced off against Np. 4 ranked Tufts, No. 10 Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Connecticut College.
"There were really challenging conditions today. It was sunny and gorgeous, but with a ripping cross tail wind with white caps building throughout the course,. They canceled racing after the eights" Marietta head coach
Greg Myhr said. "I'm proud of our guys for handling the conditions and racing pretty well. Both boats got off the line well and ran in pretty tight fields until Tufts pressed out."
Tufts won the varsity 8+ with a time of 5:57.71, six seconds ahead of Marietta. The Pioneers (6:03.32) took seconds, followed by WPI (6:07.87), and Connecticut College (6:45.88).
