Football falls at Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio — Baldwin Wallace University scored in all four quarter as the Yellow Jackets defeated Marietta College, 38-0, Saturday (Oct. 25) afternoon. The loss drops Marietta to 3-4 overall and 2-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Baldwin Wallace improves to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the OAC.
 
Baldwin Wallace grabbed the early lead on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Charlie Bubonics to Xavier Balson with three minutes left in the first quarter. The Yellow Jackets double their lead early in the second quarter when Boston Mulinix broke free for a 43-yard touchdown run.
 
Robert Feamster made it 17-0 at halftime when he kicked a 40-yard field goal in the final minute of the second quarter.
 
The Yellow Jackets added a pair of third quarter scores. George Linberger scored on a 4-yard run and Mulinix dove in from two yards out extending the lead to 31-0.
 
Baldwin Wallace special teams provided the final points. Issac DiTirro blocked a Marietta punt and recovered it in the endzone for a touchdown.
 
Vante' Hodges (Horn Lake, Miss./Horn Lake) led the Pioneer offense with 19 carries for 72 yards. Quarterback Joe Tenta (Palm Bay, Fla./Heritage) completed 11-of-21 passes for 70 yards. He was picked off three times. John Sierputowski (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) had five catches for 50 yards.
 
Bubonics completed 12-of-24 passes for 133 yards and one touchdown. Linberger finished with 118 yards rushing and one touchdown on 20 carries. Mulinix had nine carries for 54 yards and two touchdowns.
 
Brady McManaway (Pleasant City, Ohio/Meadowbrook) had 13 tackles for the Pioneer defense. He recovered a fumble and had 1.5 tackles for a loss. Harley Hopkins (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) added eight tackles, including 1.5 for a loss and 1.0 sack.
 
TJ Gibbons had a pair of interceptions for the Yellow Jackets. Nolan Hartsel and Dom Tromba each had eight tackles to lead BW.
 
Marietta plays at Wilmington College next Saturday (Nov. 1). Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
