MARIETTA, Ohio—No. 7 Nationally Ranked Oshkosh defeated Marymount in straight sets 25-9, 25-17 and 25-10 Thursday afternoon in Ban Johnson Arena to advance to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament.
Oshkosh (27-5) was led by Riley Kindt and Sami Perlberg with 12 and 11 kills. Izzy Coon led the Titans in assist with 20 while Abby Fregien finished with a game-high 14 digs.
Marymount (12-22) was led by Maya Harris with seven kills, Natalie Bialecki had 11 assists and Harris along with Renae Rohrer finished with seven assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One
After an ace for Marymount to begin the match Oshkosh went on a 5-0 run causing three hitting errors from Marymount to take a 5-to-1 lead.
With the score at 7-to-3 Oshkosh went on a 7-0 run which saw two kills from Kindt and Joslyn Wolff each to take the momentum leading 14-to-3.
Two service aces from Malia Winchel powered Oshkosh to point 20 and the titans finished off the first set victory winning 25-to-9.
Set Two
Oshkosh led 3-to-2 early on and went on a 5-0 run which saw three different Titans get a kill while Izzy Coon had an ace to push the lead out to 8-to-2.
Marymount battled back to 13-to-9 on a 7-5 run as four different Saints had kills.
Oshkosh got two block to go along with a kill from three different Titans to push the lead back out to 18-to-10.
Marymount got within five at 22-17 but could not close any closer in the set as Oshkosh got the final three points ending on a Winchel ace.
Set Three
Oshkosh got off to a 9-to-2 lead in the final set of the day as Perlberg had three kills and Kindt had two.
The final set saw Marymount not get closer than seven as Oshkosh took the set 25-

Oshkosh will await the winner of the University of Chicago and Centre with that match beginning at 4:30 PM on Friday in Marietta.
