MARIETTA, Ohio – The Marietta College men's lacrosse team fell 14-4 to Baldwin Wallace on Saturday (May 1) afternoon in the regular season finale, at Don Drumm Stadium.

Shawn Runyon said, "Although we didn't get the win today, it was exciting to see us battle and compete with one of the tops teams in the conference."
After the first five minutes of the game were scoreless, Baldwin Wallace scored three unanswered goals, and led 3-0 at the 6:53 minute mark of the quarter. Marietta got on the scoreboard when
Zach Radcliffe (Bethel Park, Pa. /Bethel Park) scored off a feed from
Nate Neal (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park). The Yellow Jackets scored the final two goals of the quarter, and led 5-1 to enter the second quarter.
Baldwin Wallace scored five consecutive second quarter goals, to hold a 10-1 edge at the intermission.
The third quarter was a defensive battle, as the first eight minutes of action were scoreless. The Yellow Jackets scored a pair of goals over the final seven minutes of third quarter action, and led 12-1.
The Pioneers scored the first goal of the fourth quarter, at the 8:13 minute mark when Neal scored a man up goal off an assist from Radcliffe. Marietta scored a second straight goal when
Chase Franklin (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) found the back of the net off a feed from
Kyle Fleshman (Davidsonville, Md./South River). After a Baldwin Wallace goal made the score 13-3, Radcliffe made the score 13-4 with two minutes to play in the game. The Yellow Jackets scored the final goal of the game, and won 14-4.
Dane Barker (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) played all 60 minutes in goal, he faced 50 shots, 27 of which were on goal, and made 13 saves.
Defensively
Blake Chisholm (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon McMillan) led the way with a game high three caused turnovers.
Zach Rush (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville Central) added a pair of caused turnover, and four groundballs in the game.
Jacob Morlando (White Bear Lake, Minn./Stillwater), and
Robby Guy (LaPlata, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) each caused a turnover for the defense.
Nathan Grover (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) won a game high nine face-offs.
"This year came with its challenges, but we learned a lot throughout the season that we will use to continue to build upon as a program moving forward," concluded Coach Runyon.
The Pioneers concluded their season with an overall record of 4-9, and compiled a 3-6 record in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
