MARIETTA, Ohio — Throughout the coming weeks, the Marietta College athletics department will be profiling our spring sports senior student-athletes who had their senior seasons cut short due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
Our next senior is
Michael Shrader (Clarence Center, N.Y./Clarence) from the men's rowing team. Shrader is a four-year member of the rowing team and has served as a team captain.
Michael is the son of Krista Ulrich and Jeff Shrader from Buffalo, New York.
What is your major? — Music.
What are your plans after graduation? — I plan finding a job.
What was your favorite class or professor at Marietta College? — Music Theory with Dr. Francis. This is because every class is like solving a musical puzzle.
What is your favorite sports memory at Marietta College? — My favorite sports memory at Marietta College was living in a hotel for a week doing nothing but rowing and hanging out with my best friends during spring break and winter training.
What message or advice would you like to give your teammates? — Treat every race and practice like it's your last. Give 110% every day because that will become your new normal … Then you can give more. You're setting up the future of this program.
