MARIETTA, Ohio – The Marietta College women's basketball team will host Capital University Wednesday (Jan. 30) in the Ohio Athletic Conference Game of the Week, with tip scheduled for 7 p.m. The Pioneers are 11-8 overall and 6-6 in OAC action, while the Crusaders are 12-7 overall and 7-5 in OAC play.

The OAC, in collaboration with NKT Productions, began a new venture this year with the webcasting of an OAC Basketball Game of the Week. The series is being held on the eight Wednesdays that comprise the mid-week dates of the OAC schedule. In addition, NKT will webcast the OAC Men's and Women's Tournament Championship games on Saturday, February 23.

"We're really excited about this new program and we hope this is something that can grow into bigger and better things," claimed OAC Commissioner Tim Gleason. "Our student-athletes deserve this attention. OAC basketball is high quality and fun to watch."

Marietta is led by senior guard Shay Lett (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe). Lett leads the Pioneers in scoring with 13.8 points per game, which is sixth in the OAC. Senior forward Corrie Burkhardt (Zanesville, Ohio/Philo) adds 13.1 points per game and is second in the OAC in field goal percentage at 55.4%. Junior forward Alexis Enochs (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) ranks second in the OAC with 1.2 blocks per game and adds 12.6 points on the offensive end of the floor.

Capital is led by senior forward Erin Risner. Risner provides the Crusaders with 12.2 points per game and is fourth in the OAC in rebounding with 7.7 boards per game. Sophomore guard Elle Folan adds 10.1 points per game. Caroline Taphorn leads Capital in assists with 50 and ranks sixth in the OAC averaging 3.3 per game.

Marietta will return to the hardwood Saturday (Feb. 2nd) when both the men and women host Ohio Northern University on Winter Weekend. The women's game will tip at 1 p.m.
