ADA, Ohio — Ohio Northern capitalized on a penalty kick late in the match to beat Marietta College, 1-0, Saturday (Sept. 29) evening in Ohio Athletic Conference men's soccer action. The Pioneers fall to 6-4 overall and 0-1 in the OAC, while Ohio Northern improves to 8-2-1 and 1-0 in the OAC.
Marietta was whistled for a foul in the box at the 86:10 mark awarding the Polar Bears a penalty kick. Levi King converted the penalty for the only goal of the match.
The Pioneers out shot Ohio Northern 15-10, including a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. However, Marietta could not get one past ONU keeper John Lombardo. Lombardo posted five saves and the clean sheet.

Dakota Penquite (Blanchester, Ohio/Blanchester) was equally impressive recording three saves on the night and surrendering just the penalty kick goal.
The Pioneers return home to host Otterbein University on Wednesday (Oct. 3) at 7 p.m.
