MARIETTA, Ohio — Work is underway on the installation of new FieldTurf synthetic surfaces at Don Drumm Stadium and Marietta Field. Don Drumm is expected to be completed by the start of preseason camp in early August, while Marietta Field is slated to be finished later in August.

Pioneer fans around the globe can monitor the progress of both projects on the internet. Live webcams have been installed at both facilities and will stream until each field installation is complete. The live stream can be accessed HERE.

The current FieldTurf surface at Don Drumm Stadium was installed in 2004. The new surface will have a gray field with contrasting shades every five yards and the Marietta College Pioneer logo at midfield. The end zones will be navy blue with Marietta spelled out in white. Don Drumm will be marked for football and men's lacrosse, and will include temporary marks for women's lacrosse and soccer.

Anyone interested in sections of the original turf are welcome to it on a first-come, first-served basis. As the original turf is removed it will be placed in a dumpster outside of Don Drumm Stadium near the service gate at the south end of the stadium. Each roll of turf is 4-foot wide and approximately 150-foot long.

The original turf will be available free of charge. Interested parties are responsible for cutting, loading and transporting the turf from the dumpster outside of the stadium.  Please do not enter the stadium throughout the duration of the project.

Across Greene Street from Don Drumm Stadium, Marietta Field will feature a navy blue turf with the Pioneer head logo at midfield. The field will be marked for soccer and women's lacrosse, and include temporary marks for men's lacrosse. Lights will also be installed at Marietta Field allowing the facility to be used for evening and night events.
