MARIETTA, Ohio – The Marietta College women's soccer team was in action Saturday (Oct. 27) as they hosted Baldwin Wallace University on Marietta Field.  The Pioneers were defeated by the Yellow Jackets, 5-0.   

Baldwin Wallace jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second minute when Courtney Cofer scored off a corner kick.  After 34 minutes of scoreless action in the first half the Yellow Jackets added a pair of goals in the 37th and 39th minute of the match.  The Pioneers battled for the remainder of the half, but entered the intermission behind, 3-0.  

The second half of the match was a scoreless battle for the opening 29 minutes.  Baldwin Wallace tacked on goal in the 75th minute to take a 4-0 lead.  The Yellow Jackets scored their fifth goal of the match in the 89th minute, and held on to win the game, 5-0.  Marietta was able to create second half chances as Brittany Palm (Prosperity, Pa./McGuffey), and Halie Hill (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) each had shots on goal in the second half.  

MaryKate Corum (Cleveland, Ohio/Normandy) started and played 64 minutes in goal for the Pioneers and made seven saves in the game.  

This concludes the 2018 season for the Marietta College women's soccer team.
