Box Score CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Marietta College posted a 3-1 win over Ohio University Chillicothe Friday (Sept. 22) evening in volleyball action. The win improves the Pioneers to 7-8 on the season.
Marietta dropped the first set 21-25 before sweeping the next three for the win. The Pioneers won the final three sets 25-21, 25-20 and 25-15.
Erica Denallo (Parma, Ohio/Independence) smashed a team-high 14 kills and also led the Pioneers with 18 digs.
Darcy Irish (Lagrange, Ohio/Keystone) put away 11 kills.
Maddie Nader (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) and
Aly Wiseman (London, Ohio/Bishop Ready) helped the offensive attack with a pair of service aces each.
Allie Cowan (Westfield, Ind./Guerin Catholic) chipped in with 11 digs along the back line. Wiseman and Nader split the setting duties. Wiseman dished out 19 assists, while Nader recorded 18 assists.
Marietta is back in action on Saturday (Sept. 23) when the Pioneers play a tri-match at Ohio Christian University. The Pioneers play the host school at 11 a.m. and then finish with a 1 p.m. match against Anderson University.
