The Eagles scored one run in the first and fourth innings and then plated five in the fifth inning for a 7-0 lead. An insurance run in the ninth made it 8-0.

Emory's Davis Coble led off the game with a walk and moved to third on a single from Wilson Morgan. After Morgan stole second, Brian Hernandez hit a sac fly to right scoring Coble.

In the fourth, Dylan Eisner led off with a single to right field and then took second base with some aggressive base running. Philip Maldari popped out to the Pioneer catcher Eric White (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) at the backstop, but Eisner tagged on the play and beat the throw to second.

Chris Slivka was the next Eagle batter and he flew out to right. Again, Eisner tagged and moved over to third. Bubby Terp followed with an RBI single for a 2-0 Eagle lead. Terp would finish 4-for-5 with three RBI on the day.

Emory sent nine hitters to the plate in the five-run fifth inning. Hernandez, Eisner, Maldari, Slivka and Terp each drove in a run in the rally.

The Pioneers put their lead off batter on base in the eighth and ninth innings but were unable to produce any runs. Brandon Papp (Uniontown, Ohio/Green) singled to start the eighth and Tim McCoy (Willoughby, Ohio/St. Ignatius) led off the ninth with a double down the right field line.

Mike Hale (Dayton, Ohio/Northmont) was the lone Pioneer with two hits in the game.
