Washinton and Jefferson shuts out Women's Soccer 3-0

Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. — The Marietta College women's soccer team lost at Washington and Jefferson College by the score of 3-0 Saturday (Sept. 27) afternoon. The Pioneers are now 0-9-1 on the season, while the Presidents even their record at 4-4 overall.

Washington and Jefferson got two first half goals from Tatiana Ruzzini. The first came in the ninth minute when Josie Madden's through ball found Ruzzini in the box one on one with the Marietta keeper. Ruzzini added an unassisted goal in the 28th minute, her seventh of the season, for a 2-0 W&J lead at halftime.

Hayley Skovira scored on a direct kick in the closing seconds of the match for the final margin of victory. It was Skovira's second goal of the season.

Morgan Kinyon made seven saves in goal for the Presidents to preserve the clean sheet. Freshman keeper Rebecca Tenney (Pepper Pike/Orange) had seven saves for the Pioneers.

W&J outshot Marietta 19-11 for the match. The Presidents took 10 corners to just three for the Pioneers.
