Westminster blanks Women's Soccer

Box Score NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Westminster College scored in the early minutes of the second half and then held on to defeat Marietta College 1-0 Saturday (Aug. 30) in women's soccer action. The Pioneers fall to 0-2 on the season, while the Titans are 1-1 overall.

Rebecca Bradnam broke through the Pioneer defense to score an unassisted goal in the 47th minute for the only goal of the match.

Both teams took 10 shots in the match, while Westminster held a 4-1 edge in corner kicks. Freshman Rebecca Tenney (Pepper Pike/Orange) recorded five saves in her first collegiate start at keeper for Marietta. Rachael Letscher had six saves for the Titans.

Marietta is back in action on Friday (Sept. 5) when Defiance College visits Marietta Field for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff. Fans can follow the Pioneers all season long at pioneers.marietta.edu.
