UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — No. 7 Ranked John Carroll University dominated every phase of the game en route to an 80-0 victory over visiting Marietta College Saturday (Oct. 18) afternoon. The Blue Streaks remain undefeated on the season with a 6-0 record, 5-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Pioneers move to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

The Blue Streaks set the tone for the afternoon on the first play of the game. Aramis Greenwood returned the opening kickoff 82 yards to pay dirt. Following the point after, JCU led 7-0 just 10 seconds into the game.

John Carroll's defense forced the Pioneers to go three-and-out on their first possession. Marietta's punt was blocked and recovered by the Streaks at the Pioneer four-yard line. Three straight carries by Tommy Michals and another point after and JCU led 14-0 with 11:28 remaining in the first quarter.

A pick-six from Kevin Cope and a 13-yard touchdown run by Michals gave the Blue Streaks a commanding 49-0 lead at halftime.

After the break John Carroll added 17 more points in the third quarter and then capped a 14-point fourth quarter with an pick-six. This one from Nick Stull who intercepted the ball on the Pioneer 38-yard line and scampered into the end zone.
