Box Score HIRAM, Ohio – Hiram College scored five first half goals en route to a 5-1 win over Marietta College Thursday (Sept. 26) night in women's soccer action. The Pioneers fall to 2-6 on the season, while Hiram improves to 6-2 overall.
Hiram wasted little time in grabbing the lead. The Terriers scored just over five minutes into the match and then added a second goal in the 18th minute for a 2-0 lead. Alison Cowell tallied the first goal and then assisted Robynn McGroarty on the second.
Marietta cut the deficit in half with a goal in the 22nd minute. Senior
Emily Jones (Loudon, Tenn./Northville (Mich.)) collected a pass from junior
Stevie Reilly (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park Senior) and beat the Hiram keeper for the score. It was the third goal of the season for Jones.
Hiram added three more goals before halftime for a 5-1 lead. Allie Glatt and Kelsey Martin scored unassisted goals in the 26th and 34th minutes, respectively. The Terriers' final goal came at the 36:02 mark from Michaela Edmond.

Sam Kelley (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson), playing for the injured
Kaitlyn Pearse (Galena/Olentangy Orange), got the start in goal for the Pioneers. Kelley recorded three saves in the match. Kailie Reed had two saves in net for the Terriers.
For the match, Hiram outshot the Pioneers 18-5. The Terriers also had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.
