Box Score OBERLIN, Ohio – Oberlin College scored the lone goal of the match in the 81st minute to defeat Marietta College Saturday (Sept. 21) afternoon in women's soccer action. The loss drops the Pioneers to 2-5 on the season. Oberlin improves to 3-4 overall.
Marietta dominated play in the first half but couldn't find the back of the net. The Pioneer defense held Oberlin without a shot in the first 45 minutes.
Oberlin came out of the intermission and took control of the match. The Yoemen outshot the Pioneers 10-3 during the second half but Marietta's freshman keeper
Sam Kelley (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) turned back six of them.
Oberlin's Cam Sacristan took a pass from Sarah Willete and beat Kelley for the game-winning goal. It was Sacristan's second goal of the season.
For the match, Oberlin took 10 shots to six for Marietta. The Yoemen had a slim 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Kelley finished with six saves in goal for the Pioneers, while Kate Frost had one for Oberlin.
