Junior forward Stevie Reilly
Box Score MARIETTA, Ohio – Washington & Jefferson College scored a goal eight minutes into overtime for a 2-1 win over Marietta College Wednesday (Sept. 18) afternoon in women's soccer.  W&J improves to 3-4 overall, while the Pioneers slip to 2-4 on the season.

Senior Holly Shipley dribbled into the left corner and sent a cross to the far post where Bianca Rajan one-timed the ball into the lower right corner for the game-winner. The goal was Rajan's first of the season.

W&J head coach Pete Curtis, who earned his first coaching victory on Marietta Field as Marietta's head men's soccer coach, notched the 200th win of his career with the victory.

The Presidents jumped on top early in the match on a goal by senior Sarah Zeh. Freshman Mariah Lockard crossed the ball into the six-yard box where Zeh fired it home for the 1-0 lead at the 11:13 mark of the first half.

Marietta knotted the score at a goal apiece in the 35th minute. W&J keeper Morgan Kinyon saved a Pioneer shot but couldn't control the ball. Junior Stevie Reilly (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park Senior) headed the loose ball into the net for the equalizer. The goal was Reilly's third of the season.

Both teams took three shots in an evenly matched second half, but neither tallied a goal sending the game into overtime.

Marietta senior keeper Kaitlyn Pearse (Galena/Olentangy Orange) left the match in the 89th minute after a collision outside the penalty box. Freshman Sam Kelley (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) took over in goal for the Pioneers and turned away a point blank shot from W&J's Molly Peddicord in the 97th minute.

Pearse made five saves before exiting the match, while Kelley had one. Kinyon recorded four saves in goal for the Presidents.

Washington & Jefferson outshot the Pioneers 14-10 and held a slim 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
