COLUMBUS, Ohio – Capital University scored three second-half goals to break open a close match and defeat Marietta College by the score of 4-0 Wednesday (Oct. 23) afternoon in men's soccer action.
Four different Crusaders scored goals for Capital (6-6-3 overall, 3-3 OAC) in the victory. Senior Nick Eley scored the game winner in the 31st minute with an assist from junior R.G. Florey.
Freshman Zach Matheny, sophomore Hunter Booth and senior Tim Rieser each scored in the second half. Matheny scored in the 58th minute followed by Booth in the 65th and Rieser in the 83rd minute.

Chris Stollar (Marietta/Marietta) recorded six saves in goal for the Pioneers, while freshman
Sebastian Parra (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) played the final eight minutes without a save. Seniors Bob Weisgarber and Dylan Beck split time in goal for the Crusaders. Weisgarber started and didn't face a shot on goal, while Beck made three saves in net.
For the match, Capital outshot the Pioneers 17-7. The Crusaders took six corner kicks to just one for Marietta.
