Terriers take a bite out of Men's Soccer

Box Score HIRAM, Ohio – The Marietta College men's soccer team lost to Hiram College by the score of 3-1 Tuesday (Sept. 11) evening. The loss drops the Pioneers to 2-3 on the season. The Terriers improve to 5-0 overall.

After a scoreless first half, sophomore Wesley Riley (Marietta/Marietta) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 48th minute. Riley leads the Pioneers with five goals and 11 points on the season.

Hiram responded with three unanswered goals. Ryan Minick evened the match in the 57th minute with an assist from Andy Harding. Minick then assisted Harding on the game winner at the 61:58 mark. Hiram's final goal came in the 76th minute when Kevin Haramis scored on an assist from Ty Smith.

Chris Stollar (Marietta/Marietta) posted a season-high nine saves in goal for the Pioneers. Joe Rottinger had four saves for the Terriers.

Hiram took 25 shots to Marietta's nine. The Terriers held a slim 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

The Pioneers finish this four-game road swing on Saturday (Sept. 15) with a 4 p.m. match at Waynesburg College.
