SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Marietta College split a pair of non-conference volleyball matches Saturday (Oct. 20) afternoon. Playing at Wittenberg University, the Pioneers defeated Allegheny College 3-0 and then lost to Wittenberg by the same score. Marietta is now 16-10 on the season.
The Pioneers defeated Allegheny (6-22) by the scores of 25-20, 25-16 and 25-12. Wittenberg (19-4), ranked No. 3 nationally, downed Marietta 25-18, 25-18 and 25-9.

Keri Horton (Westland, Mich./Wayne Memorial)# was nearly unstoppable against Allegheny putting away 12 kills with one error in 20 attempts for a .550 attack percentage. Sophomore #

Chloe Janson (Lawrenceburg, Ind./East Central)# each added nine kills.

Laura Mauer (Terre Haute, Ind./North)# recorded 38 assists and nine digs. Senior libero #

Brittney Merritt (Akron/Copley)# had 12 digs.

Paige DeVriendt (Bowling Green/Bowling Green)# paced the Pioneer attack with seven kills each. Horton chipped in with six kills.
Mauer dished out 20 assists and had a match-high 15 digs. Merritt had 10 digs and Braun added nine. Hackenberg notched three blocks.
