MARIETTA, Ohio – The Marietta College men's soccer team lost to Transylvania University, Ky. by the score of 3-0 Saturday afternoon. Transylvania scored in the opening minutes of the match and Marietta was never able to recover. [

Senior Ethan Collins scored a pair of goals for Transylvania, including the game-winner in the third minute of play. Collins added his second goal in the 56th minute. Sophomore Christian King found the back of the net in the 16th minute giving Transylvania a 2-0 lead at the half.
For the match, Transylvania outshot Marietta 7-2 and had a large advantage in corner kicks 9-1. Sophomore keeper Alex Schmitt posted the shutout in net. Marietta sophomore goalkeeper

Marietta College is back in action on Tuesday, September 6th when they host Hiram College in a 4 p.m. match at Marietta Field.
