BETHANY, W.Va. – The Bison of Bethany College scored once in each half to defeat Marietta College by the score of 2-0 Tuesday afternoon. The loss drops the Pioneers to 1-7 on the season. Bethany moves to 2-6 overall. [

Senior forward Cameron Ward tallied both unassisted goals for Bethany. Ward got the Bison on the board in the 27th minute when he fired a shot from 10-yards out into the lower left corner. He added an insurance goal in the 66th minute.
The Pioneers split the goal keeping duties with sophomores
Chris Stollar (Marietta/Marietta) playing the first 45 minutes and
Bobby Thaxton (Milford/Milford) the second 45. Each allowed one goal and Stollar had four saves, while Thaxton recorded one. Patrick Coleman earned the shtout in net for the Bison posting eight saves.
For the match, Bethany took 14 shots to 12 for the Pioneers. Each team took three corner kicks.
Marietta College travels to Berea on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match at Baldwin-Wallace College.
