The lone goal of the match came in the 74th minute off a set piece. Heidelberg senior midfielder sent the ball into the box from 45 yards out where senior Jeff Gordon headed the ball into the net.
The Pioneers kept the pressure on all match taking eight shots on goal to just four for the Student Princes.

Bobby Thaxton (Milford/Milford)# made three saves in net for the Pioneers. Heidelberg junior keeper Ryan Smith had eight saves en route to the shutout.
For the match, both teams took 11 shots. Heidelberg won the corner kick battle, 8-3.
Marietta returns to the pitch on Tuesday, October 25th when the Pioneers travel to Columbus for a 4 p.m. match at Capital University.
