MARIETTA, Ohio – Otterbein University scored a pair of first half goals to defeat Marietta College 2-0 in women's soccer Tuesday afternoon. The Pioneers fall to 1-13-1 overall and 0-6-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Cardinals improve to 7-5-2 and 4-1-1 in the OAC. [

The Pioneers' best scoring opportunity of the match came in the 11th minute of play. Junior defender #
Holly Simms (Pickerington/North)# fired a shot from the right side of the 18-yard box that hit the left post.
Otterbein junior forward Molly Kroger scored both of the Cardinals' goals in the match. Kroger took a pass from midfielder Rachel Denz at the top of the 18 and lofted the ball into the upper left corner for the game winner in the 40th minute.
Less than three minutes later Kroger struck again. Sophomore forward Chelsea DeLay sent a cross into the 6-yard box where Kroger collected it and beat the Pioneers' goalkeeper for the 2-0 lead.

Kaitlyn Pearse (Galena/Olentangy Orange)# had six saves in in goal for Marietta. Otterbein's freshman keeper, Melissa Zang, recorded two saves.
For the match, the Cardinals took 19 shots, eight on goal, and took seven corner kicks. Marietta managed just six shots, two on goal, and didn't take a corner the entire match.
Marietta travels to Heidelberg on Saturday for a 4 p.m. match.
