WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College Quakers needed overtime to defeat Marietta College by the score of 3-2 in men's soccer Saturday night. This was the fourth straight overtime match for the Pioneers. Marietta falls to 1-10-2 overall and 0-3-2 in the OAC. Wilmington is now 9-4-1 and 3-2. [

The Pioneers struck first in the 27th minute. Senior midfielder #
Michael Lomas (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Kentwood)# beat his defender and shot across the keeper's face to tally his first goal of the season. The score remained 1-0 in favor of Marietta at the half.
Wimington's Dan Wicks knotted the match when he floated a shot over the Pioneers' keeper in the 57th minute. The match stayed even, 1-1, until the final seven minutes of regulation.
Marietta's freshman forward #Wes Riley# scored his second goal of the season when his shot deflected off the keeper and into the net in the 83rd minute. Martin Holmquist answered for the Quakers three minutes later with an unassisted goal from the top of the 18-yard box.
The Pioneers outshot the Quakers 4-2 in the overtime period, but couldn't hit the game winner. Wilmington's Erik Hammar took a pass from Evan Schlagetter and scored in the 99th minute for the win.
