Women's Soccer Shutout by Baldwin-Wallace

BEREA, Ohio – The Marietta College women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Baldwin-Wallace Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers fall to 1-9-1 overall and 0-2 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets move to 7-4, 1-1. [Box Score]

The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when sophomore midfielder Kayla Losco scored with an assist from sophomore midfielder Heather Keller.

B-W sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Helser added an insurance goal in the 38th minute. Sophomore midfielder Rachel Gokey's corner kick was headed in by Helser.

In the second half, both teams had chances to score but neither was able to capitalize on any opportunities.

In net for Marietta, sophomore #Kaitlyn Pearse (Galena/Olentangy Orange)# faced 13 shots, including four on goal, and had two saves. Freshman Gabrielle Bodo had four saves for B-W.

Baldwin-Wallace outshot Marietta 13-6 and lost the corner battle 5-4.

Marietta is off until next Saturday, October 8th when they host Mount Union for a 1 p.m. match at Marietta Field.
