BEREA, Ohio – The Marietta College men's soccer team was shut out, 4-0, by No. 11-ranked Baldwin-Wallace Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Pioneers to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Yellow Jackets, winners of 10 straight, are 10-1 on the season, 1-0 in the OAC. [

B-W opened the scoring in the 11th minute when senior forward Carlin Vandendriessche scored off an assist from senior midfielder Andy Thompson. The Yellow Jackets took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, B-W extended its lead in the 50th minute when junior midfelder Kirk Graf scored via an assist from junior midfielder Pat Brennan. Freshman forward Cody Smith put the game away with a pair of goals late in the game. Smith tallied an unassisted goal in the 78th minute and then scored on an assist from freshman Ben Deighton in the 81st minute.

Chris Stollar (Marietta/Marietta) had 12 saves in net for the Pioneers. Junior Ryan Hulings recorded one save for B-W.
Baldwin-Wallace outshot Marietta, 27-5, and won the corner kick battle, 6-2.
Marietta is back in action on Tuesday when they host John Carroll in a 4 p.m. match at Marietta Field.
