Aleisha Guiler (Lower Salem/Monroe Central) recorded her seventh double-double of the season, finishing with 22 points and 12 rebounds, but it came in a losing effort, as host Muskingum University defeated the Marietta College women's basketball team 66-53 Wednesday (Jan. 26) nights. [

With the win, the Fighting Muskies improved to 9-9 overall and 7-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Pioneers fell to 7-11, 3-8 in league play.
Freshman
Tori Dixon (Londonderry/Vinton County) joined Guiler in double figures as she finished with 11 points. Freshman
Paige Lamb (Marietta/Marietta) added eight points and seven rebounds, while senior
Mallory Hoff (Newport/Frontier) and sophomore Kristeva Rowe both had six boards in the loss.
Gabbi Davis led Muskingum with 14 points. Hannah Oakley followed with 13 and Carissa Bosch had 12. Three other Fighting Muskie players contributed seven points, including Amanda Dobbins who also added a team-best eight boards.
Muskingum, who led wire-to-wire, took control early by jumping out to a 13-2 advantage over the first seven minutes. Marietta cut the deficit to four points, 19-15, with 5:01 remaining in the half and entered intermission trailing 29-21.
The Muskies began the second half with an 8-0 run to regain command of the game and the Pioneers never got closer than nine points the rest of the way.
Marietta will look to bounce back Saturday (Jan. 29) evening when they visit Otterbein University at 5 p.m.
